Extreme Fit
Between natural bodybuilding and fitness competitions lays an area
untouched by any current form of physique competition. We have carefully
developed a new physique arena to fill this void. We've called it,
"XTREME FIT". All NANBF eligibility requirements still apply to these
athletes.
Xtreme Fit ROUNDS of JUDGING STANDING RELAXED:
In this round, the class shall stand together in a line facing the
judges, and will be in a relaxed position. The Head Judge will call for
a series of quarter turns to the competitors’ right. The judges will
look for the competitors’ degree of perfection for perfect symmetry,
overall muscular development as each muscle group relates to the total
appearance, as well as degree of body fat and water retention. The
relaxed, quarter turns are done without footwear and either in an
aerobic type outfit or in a posing suit similar to what the bodybuilders
wear. It is encouraged that the competitor wear a posing type attire for
this round. The judges will rank the competitors just as is done in the
bodybuilding competition.
INDIVIDUAL FREE STYLE POSING:
This round is designed for the competitor to highlight their strength,
flexibility, aerobic conditioning and originality in the fashion of
their favorite poses and movements and should be choreographed to music
of their choice. In the free style posing routine, each competitor takes
the stage alone and performs for a period of 120 seconds. The judge will
look for the competitors’ ability to display their favorite parts as
well as the ability to favorably present her/his weak parts along with
their flexibility, strength, aerobic conditioning and originality of
routine. Judges will also assess the competitors’ presentation in regard
to smooth flow of movement, fluid transitions, the artistic ability to
present poses, and the ability to incorporate dance and gymnastics. The
competitor must demonstrate an even proportion of these elements.
The judges will not compare the competitors’ routines against each
other. Instead, the judges will consider the competitor’s routine
against the “ideal” routine. Given this “ideal”, the judges will rank
the elements from one(1) through five(5). One is the best score and five
the least desirable. If a competitor did not display the particular
element being rated or perhaps the competitor tried to display the
element, but was unsuccessful, a five would be given, as an example. The
ratings for the four elements are tallied and marked in parentheses next
to the ratings. They will be combined with the ranking given for the
Relaxed quarter turns round and placed into the total score area on the
judging sheet.
The ranking is noted and added to the total rating
given the competitor in the routine round. The total score is noted and
the final placings on the judge’s sheet are calculated.
Xtreme fit is NOT a fitness competition. The competitors will
not be compared in foot wear or clothing such as evening gowns or swim
wear. The competitors’ routine becomes very important and must be
carefully viewed for the above mentioned criteria. In the other judging
round, standing relaxed, the judges must carefully critique for symmetry
as previously defined and overall muscular development. Is the
competitor " fit ", with noticeable athletic ability, strength and
proper aerobic conditioning? Does the competitor have proper symmetry
and muscularity, referring to the shape/contour of the muscles and
muscle groups with proper muscle tone and firmness with a lack of fat
and water under the skin?
